Daryl Ann Raymond, 63, of Laramie, Wyoming, died Saturday, August 21, 2010. Daryl began her life in Massachusetts. She was born on November 18, 1946, in Brockton, MA., first child of the late Jack D. and Alice J. Raymond. She lived in Marshfield Hills, MA during her childhood years. During this time she traveled around the world and experienced living in Kabul, Afghanistan with her family from 1955 to 1957. After graduating from High School in Marshfield she then went to Bridgewater State College and continued on to Cape Cod Community College where she received an Associates Arts Degree. Cape Cod held a special place in Daryl’s heart. She had a lot of fun at the Cape and developed some very close friendships there. She especially loved the ocean. She then moved to Laramie, WY in 1977 to be close to her family. She worked at the University of Wyoming Human Resources Department as a dedicated Personnel Specialist for many years. She retired and then became a passionate and active volunteer with the local Democratic Party and the American Cancer Society. Most importantly, Daryl felt comfortable among people she loved. She really was a passionate, intelligent, creative and wise woman who loved to have conversations about current events in the world, and spend time with her family and friends and her pets. She was an amazing historian who had a knack of remembering and sharing details of many life experiences. She was a true child of the 60′s, and lived the spirit of that era of peace, love, family and community. Although Daryl was beset with various physical and health issues during her life, she rose above it with her sense of humor, her generosity, her love for her family and friends, her inner strength and her faith. She was a source of support and inspiration for the people she loved most. She was loved and will be missed by her brother, Gregory Jack Raymond, and his wife, Lynne, and their son, beloved nephew, Alexander, her sister, Robin Raymond, and her sons, beloved nephews, Reid Eakins and Kyle Eakins, and her extended relatives, and the many friends whose lives she touched. Her love will always live on in our hearts and memories.
