David Gebhard

David Robert Gebhard, 76, of Cheyenne, died October 5, 2016 at Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne. Mr. Gebhard was born in Ft. Wayne, IN on December 24, 1939 the son of Joseph and Marie Gebhard. He grew up in Ft. Wayne, IN and graduated from South Side High School there. On December 28, 1960, he married Judith Ann Allen in Cheyenne. They later moved to Spain where he was stationed with the U.S. Air Force. He was also stationed in Montana, Thailand, Alaska and eventually Cheyenne. He served with the Military Police in the Air Force, retiring after 22 years of service. He received 7 air medals and 2 accommodation medals during his service in Thailand. After his military service, he worked as Deputy Laramie County Assessor, retiring in January 2005 after 24 years, He was a longtime volunteer for Cheyenne Frontier Days. Mr. Gebhard is survived by his wife Judith of Cheyenne and one daughter Cristine Gebhard also of Cheyenne, one son Robert and wife Debbie Gebhard of East Wenatchee, WA and 3 grandchildren Barbra, Robert, Jr and David. He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers and two sisters Family requests memorials to the American Heart Association and American Diabetes Association. Private family services will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.
