David Sanks

David L. Sanks, 71, of Cheyenne died March 16, 2014 at Davis Hospice Center. He was born May 6, 1942 in Lexington, NE to Fredrick and Lucille Sanks. He married Rosalie Suntrup on January 19, 2001 in Cheyenne. Re was retired from Union Pacific Railroad as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of North Cheyenne Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Rosalie Sanks of Cheyenne; step-children, Donald R. Suntrup of Grand Junction, CO, Donna R. Channel of Cheyenne, David R. Suntrup of Cape Girardeau, MO, Dale Robert Suntrup of Cheyenne and John D. Suntrup of Cheyenne; sisters, June Herron of Lima, OH and Betty Juel of Lexington, NE; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, and the person he raised as a son, Davey Merriman of Denver, CO. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Lois Sanks, parents and 3 siblings. A Memory Service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Schrader Chapel. Services and cremation are under the care of Schrader Funeral Home. Those who wish may contribute to Davis Hospice Center.
