Dean Winsch

Dean A. Winsch, 65, of Cheyenne passed away peacefully on November 8, 2016 at Davis Hospice Center, Cheyenne, Wyoming. Dean was born on August 12, 1951, in Berwyn, Illinois to Irvin and Marion (Has) Winsch. Dean was a graduate of Downers Grove High School. He attended the University of Wyoming graduating in 1973 with a degree in Zoology. He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Dean also served in the Naval Reserves and the Wyoming Air National Guard. Dean returned to the University of Wyoming and graduated in 1980 with a degree in Pharmacy and later graduated from Creighton University with a doctorate in Pharmacology. Dean was employed for 37 years at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. He retired in August 2016 due to health reasons. During his career as a pharmacist he was also an adjunct instructor for the University of Wyoming and preceptor for numerous pharmacy students over the years. He served on the University of Wyoming's Drug Utilization Board and was an active member of the Wyoming Pharmaceutical Association. His love and dedication to his profession resulted in many awards and accolades over the years. Dean was one of the rare individuals that loved going to work every day. From a young age Dean loved skiing, swimming, and scouting. He was on his high school swim team and was a lifeguard at the community pool. Dean achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 1967. He enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, and going to UW basketball games with his son, David. Dean is survived by his wife, Debbie (Stickley) whom he married December 21, 1973 in Laramie, Wyoming and his son, David Winsch of Cheyenne; and sisters, Barbara Long and Joanna Jackson. Mr. Winsch was preceded in death by his parents. A memory service celebrating his life will be held November 12, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon, and Jacoby Funeral Home. A reception will follow at the Schrader Reception Center. Cremation has already taken place.
