Mr. Dean M. Woods, 83, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013, at the Davis Hospice Center. Mr. Woods was born September 22, 1929, in Cheyenne, a son of the late Charles and Gladys (Cole) Woods. Dean was drafted by the United States Army, serving honorably during the Korean War. Following his discharge, he worked for the Wyoming Air National Guard for more than 30 years and completed his career as a Life Support Superintendent. He married Winnie Mae Arnold on August 16, 1952, in Tucson, Arizona, and she preceded him in death one month earlier on May 1, 2013. Dean was actively involved as a member of the Oak Spokes Automobile Club, the First United Methodist Church and as a Mason. Dean is survived by four sons, Alan Woods of Pahrump, NV, Dale Woods of Davis, CA, Glen Woods of Cortez, CO, and Eric Woods of Cheyenne; his sister, Marilyn Casner of Cheyenne; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Winnie; and a brother, Harry Woods. A memorial service with military honors will be conducted on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with The Reverend Elizabeth McVicker officiating. Cremation is under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy in Dean's memory may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
