Debra "Debbie" Van Horn

Debbie Van Horn, 57, of Cheyenne died March 27, 2015 at Davis Hospice Center. She was born November 1, 1957 in Cheyenne to Robert and Rose Van Horn. Debbie's smile and bright spirit was a gift to everyone with whom she came in contact. She was a talented athlete and crafter. She was masterful at crochet, made pottery, stained glass and enjoyed other arts & crafts. Debbie especially loved golf, bike riding, bowling, swimming, shuffleboard, cross country skiing, dancing, and billiards. She also enjoyed vacationing with her family in the U.S. and Canada. She gave her time as a volunteer for 14 years at the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens and 14 years at the West Side Food Bank inSurprise, Arizona, where she wintered with her mom and dad for 18 years.Debbie is survived by her mother, Rose Van Horn of Cheyenne; brother, James Van Horn of Cheyenne; sister, Linda Gleason of Lafayette, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Van Horn, and grandparents H.W. and Verla Van Horn. Services will be at Lakeview Chapel at Schrader Funeral Home on Friday, April 3 at 11:00 am. Debbie liked bright colors and the family encourages wearing bright colors to the service. Donations may be made in Debbie's honor to Cheyenne Botanic Gardens or Davis Hospice Center.
