Terry joined the Army shortly after their marriage, which took them to California.  After basic training and a short time in California, they were off to Anchorage, Alaska.

She and Terry opened their muffler shop, Perfection Muffler in Cheyenne in 1987, where they worked together until her illness was diagnosed in Nov. 2022, forcing them to close the business after 35 years. They were an extremely hard working team and took great pride in taking only the best care of their clients.  In addition they enjoyed working together and supporting each other.  They were inseparable.  With running a business together with no employees it did not allow them much vacation time.  But, when they did get away it was to go visit their children and grandchildren in Denver and Holton, KS, as well as other family members.  They also on occasion were able to get away to visit South Dakota and Cody, WY, their favorite places to relax. In addition to traveling to visit family they enjoyed long car rides on the weekends.
