Dixie Hasty (Clark)

August 24, 1941 — September 30, 2011

Mrs. Dixie L. (Clark) Hasty, 70, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday morning, September 30, 201, after a long battle with cancer. Dixie was born August 24, 1941, in Fairbury, Nebraska, a daughter of the late G. R. and Marjorie B. (Nelson) Palmer. Dixie was a graduate of Cheyenne High School, Class of 1959. Following graduation, she worked for Wyoming Stock Growers Bank and also the Wyoming Highway Department. Her primary source of employment was with the Wyoming Department of Revenue and Taxation where she worked as a supervisor until her retirement in 1995 after 35 years. Her many interests after retirement included working part-time at Christopher & Banks, shopping, bowling, watching "Survivor", collecting teddy bears and cheering on the Denver Broncos. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Dixie is survived by her three children, Kimberlee Clark of Ft. Collins, CO, William E. Clark, Jr. and companion, Colleen, of Cheyenne, and Kristy Williams and husband, Butch, of Cheyenne; her companion, Jim Burr of Cheyenne; three grandchildren, Melissa Williams, Emily Williams and Cassandra Clark, all of Cheyenne; her brother, John Palmer of Cheyenne; a sister, Ruth Morris of Howard, KS; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William E. Clark, Sr. in 1982; an infant daughter, Vicki Clark; and a sister, Betty Rule. A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, October 7, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the Schrader Chapel with The Reverend Roger McDaniel officiating. A reception will immediately follow at the Schrader Reception Facility. A private family interment will be held at a later time. Cremation is under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy in Dixie's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 333 South Beech Street, Casper, WY 82601.
