Donald Eugene Cuthbertson, 76, of Laramie, Wyoming, passed away early Wednesday morning, December 9, 2015, at Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne. Donald was born January 14, 1939, in Laramie to Delbert and Mildred (Pike) Cuthbertson, the first of five children. He attended school, except one year, in Laramie graduating in 1957. Because of his love of airplanes he was a member of the CAP during his high school years. He joined the United States Air Force upon graduation and served 12 years. He married Jeane McClaflin and they had two sons, Bruce and David. After their divorce, he drove city bus for RTD in Denver. There he met and married Susan Little in 1975. A year later they were blessed by a daughter, Stephanie, who rounded out the "his, hers, and ours " family. They lived in Denver and Salt Lake City before returning to his home town. Don played guitar, banjo, mandolin and was learning the ukulele. The clerks at Guitar Center knew him by name. He collected Teddy bears and had a glass menagerie obtained from various ventures. He also was interested in astronomy. He loved to tell about being in Tripoli, Greece, Alaska, and the British Isles, and he had pictures of his journeys. His favorite was of him on a camel. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, David; and sister and brother-in-law, Judith and Ed Turner. He is survived by his wife, Susan of Laramie; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Stacy of Centennial, CO; daughter, Stephanie of Cheyenne; step-daughter and son-in-law, Alyssa and Larry Johnson of Bend, OR; nine grandchildren, Gage, Audrey and Brady Cuthbertson, Carl "Drew" (Kyra) and Michael Hageman, Damien and Alexander Helyer, Ashley Cuthbertson and David James; and three great-grandchildren, Carl "Andy" and Alice Hageman and Raelynn Campbell; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Dean Robbins of Seattle; sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Bill Hoyt, of Green River; and brother and sister-in-law, Dick and Judy Cuthbertson, of Cheyenne; and seven nieces and nephews. Services are pending. Cremation is under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home of Cheyenne. Donations may be made to Hospice of Laramie, 1262 North 22nd Street, Laramie, WY 82072.
