Mr. Donald H. Gren, 87, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away early Monday morning, April 22, 2013, at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne. Mr. Gren was born September 4, 1925, in Superior, Wisconsin, a son of the late Fred and Clara Gren. Donald was a graduate of Superior Central High School in Superior, Wisconsin. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy to serve in World War II. He served honorably in WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He retired as a Chief Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. He was a charter member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Cheyenne. Donald belonged to numerous Masonic bodies including the Cheyenne Shrine Club, Cheyenne Lodge #1, Wyoming Consistory #1, Korean Shrine, and the Royal Order of Jesters. He enjoyed family, golfing, and volunteering for the Salvation Army. Donald is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lois, of Cheyenne; his son, Terry Gren (Gloria), of Brooklyn Park, MN; daughters, Joan McKee (Larry), of Wheatland, WY, and Carolyn Hammack (Steve), of Highlands Ranch, CO; brothers, Robert Gren of Richfield, MN, and Charles Gren of Pleasanton, CA; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. There will be a memorial service on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Everett officiating. An inurnment service will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park Cemetery. Cremation is under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Donald's memory may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children or the Davis Hospice Center.
