Dr. Donald Bender Hawes, 78, of Cheyenne died May 11, 2015 at Lifecare Center of Cheyenne. He was born August 31, 1936 in Cheyenne to Clarence C. and Marguerite B. Hawes. He graduated from the University of Wyoming and University of Detroit Dental School. He practiced Dentistry in Cheyenne for about 40 years. He was a member of First Congregational Church Frontier Lions Club, Wyomingaires Barbershop Chorus, Masonic Lodge, American Dental Association, Wyoming Dental Association, Gideon's International, LCCC Wind Ensemble, City Band, UW Band and the Congregational Church Choir. He was a frequent contributor to United Blood Services. He is survived by his sister and brother in law, Sarah and Mainard Wacker of Cheyenne; nephews, Jeffrey (Therese) Wacker of Indiana, PA and Jaye (Jenny) Wacker of Cheyenne; niece, Nancy Russell; and great-nephews and nieces, Brian Wacker, Elizabeth Wacker and Hannah Mae Wacker. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Dr. John Wacker. Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at the First Congregational Church. A private interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, prior to services. Those who wish may contribute to the First Congregational Church, Alzheimer's Association or the charity of their choice.
