Mrs. Donna R. (McKown) Dobson, 67, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Donna was born October 15, 1946, in Spokane, Washington, a daughter of the late Harry M. and Goelda G. (Horn) McKown. She was educated in Colorado and received an Associate's Degree in 1976 in Criminal Justice from the University of Denver, Red Rocks Campus. She worked for the City and County of Denver, retiring from the federal government in 2010 after 17 years and nine months of employment with the IRS. She married Richard Dobson on July 4, 1979, in Denver, and lived in a loving relationship with him for 34 years. She will be remembered as an amazing woman with a heart of gold who gave of herself freely to her family and many friends. She loved her faith in Jesus Christ and will be missed dearly by her best friend and husband, Richard, and her children, grandchildren and sister. Donna is survived by her loving husband, Richard Dobson; three children, Renee Stevens, Adam Dobson and Jennifer Thompson; a sister, Denise Leonard; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Diana Wiederspahn. Cremation is under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home. A private family service will be held at a later date. Expressions of sympathy in Donna's memory may be made to a local church or homeless shelter.
