Donna Janks

Donna Jane Janks, 69, of Cheyenne passed away January 21, 2022 at Davis Hospice Center.

Donna was born February 19, 1952 in Quincy, Illinois to Donald G. and Ruth Elizabeth Daugherty. She attended Unity High School in Mendon, Illinois. Donna graduated from Illinois State University with a bachelor’s degree in medical technology.  She spent the majority of her career at Gunnison Valley Hospital and was adored by all.  Donna enjoyed spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.  She is most remembered for her love of reading and puzzles, love of tea, love of sewing, love of jewelry making, love of choir, and all things music.  She especially loved her family and friends.

Donna is survived by her daughters: Beth (Paul) Stern of Cheyenne, WY., Sarah (Jesse) Peterson of Johnstown, CO., Rebecca (Blake) Cory of Lakewood CO., grandchildren Emma and Liam Stern, Lillian and Evelyn Peterson, and grand-cat Saber.  She also leaves behind siblings Sandra (Charlie) Straley of Longmont, Colorado, Jim (Karen) Daugherty of Estes Park, Colorado, as well as many nieces and nephews and Jim Janks of Cheyenne, Wyoming.

She was preceded in death by her parents Don and Ruth Elizabeth Daugherty.

Cremation has taken place under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home and condolences may be offered at www.schradercares.com.  Memorial donations may be given in Donna’s name to Davis Hospice through Cheyenne Regional Medical Center or The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at www.givenow.lls.org

A Celebration of Life will take place on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cheyenne, Wyoming at 11:00 am.  This will be followed by a luncheon and committal at Lakeview Cemetery.
