Donna Walters

November 24, 1944 — November 16, 2012

Mrs. Donna Jean (Robinson) Walters, 67, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away at her home on Friday, November 16, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. At Donna's request, there will be no services held. Donna was born November 24, 1944, in Port Matilda, PA, the daughter of the late Jesse and Jane (Harpster) Robinson. She grew up and went to elementary school in Port Matilda and graduated from Bald Eagle High School in PA. During high school she worked as a short order cook at Sky Top Restaurant, where she eventually met William (Willy) Walters. They were married on June 30, 1966 and moved to Denver, CO, where they began raising a family. Donna and Willy lived in Kremmling, CO from 1971 to 1979 where she enjoyed bowling and snowmobiling. In 1979 they moved to Buffalo, WY where they lived for 8 years. While in Buffalo, Donna ran a home daycare service where she touched the lives of many children. Donna and Willy spent time in New Jersey and again in Denver before settling in Cheyenne, WY in 2003, where she lived until the time of her death. Donna enjoyed working as a homemaker, raising her family and decorating her home. Her greatest joy was watching her grandchildren grow, and attending their many school, sports and music functions. She was very proud of their accomplishments and would tell anyone and everyone who would listen about them. Donna is survived by her loving husband, William Walters of Cheyenne, WY; two children, Michele Whipple and husband, Robert, of Cheyenne,WY and Chuck Oldknow and wife, Carmen, of Vineland, NJ; two step-children, Scott Walters and wife, Stephanie, of Florence, CO, and Shelley Johnson and husband, John, of Anchorage, AK; six grandchildren, Ryan, Jenna, and Jonathon Whipple, Jamie Walters, Chris and Alex Johnson; six siblings, Jay Robinson, Don Robinson, JoAnne Jenkins, Janie Taylor, Judy Westley and Beverly Smith, all of Pennsylvania; and her two "only a mother could love" dogs, Taco and Bella. Cremation is under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home. Interment will be in Bellefonte, PA, at a later date. Expressions of sympathy in Donna's memory may be made to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter.
