Doris Anderson

October 13, 1917 — February 18, 2012

Doris Anne (Bare) Anderson, 94, of Meriden Route, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Davis Hospice Center on February 18, 2012. She was born October 13, 1917, in Laramie, WY, to Casper Branner Bare and Anne (Reid) Bare. Doris was a 1935 graduate of Burns High School. In 1952, she married Floyd W. Anderson of the Divide area. She was a 59-year member of Burns Chapter #47, Order of Eastern Star; worked as a substitute postmistress at the Meriden Post Office, and farmed/ranched with Floyd. She loved raising fruit trees, gardening, music, bird-watching and watching sports. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a kind soul. She was a tender, loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, neighbor and friend to all who always greeted everyone with a smile. Her family always enjoyed visiting and learning her gardening techniques and learning about the family genealogy. She is survived by seven children: Jim (Jonne) Moore, Albin; Bob (Amy) Moore, Albin; Jane Moore Davey Romerman, Denver; Bill (Carol) Moore, Albin; Marianne Moore (Frank) Shenefelt, Cheyenne; Dale (Sue) Anderson, Burns; and Louise Anderson (Bob VanAelstyn), Hillsdale; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 10 great, great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, grand- and great-grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husbands, Chad C. Moore and Floyd W. Anderson; her sisters, Edna Barratt, Albuquerque, NM; Janet Talbot, Denver, CO; brother David Bare, Sacramento, CA; 1 son-in-law, 2 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Viewing will be Wednesday and Thursday 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Schrader Funeral Home. Per Doris's request a Graveside service will be held 2:30 pm. Friday at Memorial Gardens Cemetery with a reception for family and friends following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Doris's name to Davis Hospice Center, 6000 Sycamore, Cheyenne, Wyoming 82009; Wyoming Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, 1613 Ord, Laramie, WY 82070; or Cheyenne Temple Endowment Fund, 1820 Capitol, Cheyenne, WY 82001.
