Dorothy Gunton

Dorothy M. Gunton 91, of Cheyenne, Wyoming passed away July 30, 2019 at the Davis Hospice Center surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born August 16, 1927 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, a daughter of the late Neils S and Esther V (Yensen) Christensen. Dorothy was a graduate of Cheyenne High School in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She married Larry (Lawrence) J Gunton on April 4, 1947. Dorothy had several jobs outside the home during her life, but her two favorite jobs were working for the family dairy (Plains Dairy) and being a Mom. Following her retirement, she enjoyed doing needlepoint, crocheting and volunteering at the Wyoming State Museum and being a tour guide at the Wyoming State Capitol. Dorothy is survived by; two daughters, Carolyn R. (Dick) Gunton-Lewis and LuAnn L. (Dennis) Chaffin; one granddaughter, Ruby (Kody) Zubrod, and two step grandchildren David (Stacey) Lewis and Pamela Lewis; two great-grandchildren, Rosalie Zubrod and Andrew Zubrod, and two step great-grandchildren Ryan Lewis and Tyler Lewis. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Larry Gunton of 72 years; and two sisters, Louise Nicholas and Joanne Tolle. Those who wish may contribute to the First Christian Church in Dorothy's memory. Visitation will be held on Friday August 2, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. A memory service will be celebrated on Saturday, August 3rd at 10:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church 219 W 27th Street.
