Dorothy Shafer

Dorothy E. Shafer Dorothy E. Shafer of Hillsdale passed away on Monday, May 16, 2011 at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne. She was 85 years old. Dorothy Elizabeth Creighton was born on December 16, 1925 in Wyalusing, New York, the daughter of Stuart and Mary (Reed) Creighton. She later married Joseph Raymond Shafer on October 18, 1947 in DuBois, Pennsylvania. She was a member of United Methodist Church and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by her sons, Richard Shafer of Hillsdale, WY, Robert Shafer of DuBois, Pennsylvania; a daughter, Pamela Shafer of North Platte, NE and her brother, Richard Creighton of Florida. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded by her parents; her husband, Joseph Shafer and one grandson. Private family services will be held.
