Dorothy "Dot" Titus

Dorothy C. "Dot" Titus, 94, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Life Care Center of Cheyenne. Dot was born July 13, 1923, in Denver, Colorado, a daughter of adoptive parents, Michael and Mary (Smaldone) Domenico. Dot traveled extensively with her first husband, Arthur N. Avery, during his service in the United States Navy. She later worked numerous years as a licensed practical nurse in Cheyenne. Her many interests included playing bridge, bowling, watching the Colorado Rockies, and volunteering at the Davis Hospice Center until age 91. Dot is survived by her five children, Susan Avery, Jack Avery, Patrick Avery, Lisa (Ed) Burns and Michelle (Rick) Schum; sister, Ange Melaragno; six grandchildren, Sarah Anderson, Sam (Julianne) Burns; Katie (Dirk) Dijkstal, Patrick Schum, Jessica Avery and Eric Avery; three great-grandchildren, Jace Anderson, Ty Anderson and Oliver Burns; and constant and dearest companion, Robert Simon. She is preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Michael and Mary Domenico; birth parents, Pete and Angelina Onofrio; first husband, Arthur N. Avery; second husband, James T. Titus; sister, Roselyn Allegretto; and brother, Charles Onofrio. A memory service will be celebrated on Friday, February 2, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. A reception will follow at the Schrader Reception Center. Interment will be held in Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Davis Hospice Center.
