Dorothy "Dot" Weston

Mrs. Dorothy B. "Dot" (Hainworth) Weston, 82, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away early Tuesday morning, March 13, 2012, at the Life Care Center of Cheyenne. Dorothy was born December 19, 1929, in Cody, Wyoming, a daughter of the late Jack and Florence (Jensen) Hainworth. Dorothy graduated from the University of Wyoming with a teaching degree. She met Meredith "Skeet" Weston while in school and later married on July 12, 1950. The couple moved to Rozet, Wyoming, where taught school. Later she moved to Cheyenne where she worked first for Frontier Refining and also taught physical education for St. Mary's Catholic School. She loved sports and she coached volleyball for St. Mary's, leading the team to several state championships. She also coached ladies basketball. She also enjoyed playing golf with her family every Mother's Day. Dorothy was also a competitive card player. She loved Bridge and earned a master's degree in Bridge, an award only a few ever achieve. She especially enjoyed playing card games (Gin Rummy) with her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her zest for life and as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Dorothy is survived by her son, Alan Weston and wife, Rosie, of Cheyenne; her daughter, Gay Gustafson of Mesa, AZ; four grandchildren, Donald Weston, Deanna Weston, Adam Gustafson and Amanda Hendershot; and seven great-grandchildren, Caleb, Joshua, Joseph, Malaika, Elijah, Olivia, and Ava. She is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Meredith "Skeet" Weston. A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at the Schrader Chapel with The Reverend Trudy Robinson officiating. An interment service will be held at Beth El Cemetery. A reception will immediately follow at the Schrader Reception Facility.
