Dorothy "Dottie" Hutt

Dorothy Maurine Hutt, 92, formerly of Cheyenne, died peacefully with her children around her on August 11, 2016. She had lived in Cheyenne from 1966 - 2007 and then moved to Loveland, Colorado, to be close to family. She was born on October 28, 1923 in Chico, California to Nola O. and Sadie Justeson Dixon. She attended Chico State University and was a graduate of Chapman College, Orange, California, and Lesley College Graduate School of Cambridge, Massachusetts. A former co-owner of Western Galleries with her late husband, Richard Hutt, she retired in 1988 as coordinator of Lesley College for Warren Air Force Base and Laramie County School District #1. She was a member of the United Medical Center Auxiliary and Cheyenne Botanic Gardens. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.L. Hutt, in 1978; her daughter, Catherine Hutt in 2008; her parents; her brother, Robert Dixon of Alameda, California; and her sister, Evelyn Smith of Mullan, Idaho. She is survived by her sister, Norma Tolen, Chico, California; sons, Richard Hutt (Cathy) of Chicago, Dr. James Hutt (Joyce) of Menlo Park, California David Hutt (Nancy) of Portland, Oregon, and Dr. Matthew Hutt (Susan) of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; daughters, Maurine Roller (Harold) of Alliance, Nebraska, and Kristin Moore (Robert) of Loveland, Colorado; and eleven grandchildren. Cremation is under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. At her request, no funeral or memorial services will be held. A private family memorial will take place at a later date.
