Douglas Schmidt

Douglas D. Schmidt, 57, of Cheyenne passed away May 31, 2022 in Cheyenne, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born May 22, 1965 in Ft. Dodge, IA to Duane and Clarice Schmidt.  He married Linda Sherwood on July 8, 1995 in Lincoln, NE.  He had been employed in maintenance for various cities and was a member of St Mary’s Cathedral.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Schmidt of Cheyenne; children Andrew (Becky) Vang of Redmond, OR and Jessica Vang of Lincoln, NE: grandchildren, Alisia (Eric) Loya, Christa Meek, Dillon Meek, and Travis Meek; great-granddaughter, Isabella Loya; parents, Duane and Clarice Schmidt of Lincoln, NE; and a sister, Jannette (Richard) Rothrock of Silver City, IA.

Those who wish may contribute to Davis Hospice Center.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 5, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. followed by a Vigil for the Deceased at 4:00 p.m. in the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.  A Funeral Liturgy will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2022 at St. Mary’s Cathedral with interment to follow at Mountain View Memorial Park Cemetery.
