Douglas George Shaginaw

Doug was born March 7, 1951, passing away February 9th, 2025. He served his country proudly in the US Navy before becoming a police officer in 1976 with the Chesterton Police Dept serving their community for 2 years, then becoming an officer with the Highland Polce department where he served for 20 more years. He eventually retired after 22 years in 1998. 

He is preceeded in death by his mom and dad, Mary and George Shaginaw and survived by many family members. His brother and sister Greg Shaginaw and Diana Sterk. His loving wife Georgia, his wonderful children, Scott Shaginaw (Annie) and Stacy Cordova (Alex), along with 3 stepchildren Kurt, Kendra, Kiera, and 13 grandchildren. 

He will be missed dearly, but after a long battle with the ugly C word, he was called to a better more restful place.
