E. Patrick (Pat) Maher passed away on Tuesday, February 4 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He died peacefully at age 87 after a long and storied life. He is survived by daughters Heather (Sean), grandsons Ryan and Owen and Maura (Marcos), granddaughter Olive and brothers Mike and Tim.
Pat had once coached boys basketball at St. Johns, Excelsior, Minnesota and was instrumental in bringing The Beatles to a huge crowd at Met Stadium in Minneapolis. He graduated from Minnetonka (Tonka) High School (1955) and attended the University of Minnesota. He played Legion Ball. He also ran the food concessions at the old Excelsior Amusement Park for a number of years where he hired most of the boys who had played for him. He spent his later years in San Diego where he continued his entrepreneurial ways owning and operating Del Mar Graphics, an advertising specialties agency. When life's turns didn't turn his way he would pass out buttons that said "Another Good Deal". He loved butterflies, mystery novels, music and singing off key (he couldn't help that). His best times, though, were spent with family. He loved reminiscing and sharing his stories, laughing with family and friends.
May you rest in peace with our Lord, Pat. You will be missed.
