Earl Arthur Young, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on December 14, 2024, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, at the age of 87. Earl was born on November 16,1937, in Clayton County, Iowa, to Howard and Fern Young. He lived a life that was a testament to kindness, generosity, and a spirit that embraced the joy of laughter.
Earl dedicated much of his career to being a machinist, where his hands were often busy helping to create and build. A true craftsman at heart, he found immense fulfillment in building furniture, working on cars, and tinkering in his garage. His creations were not merely objects; they were reflections of his dedication and love, meticulously crafted for friends and family alike.
A proud veteran, Earl served in the Army, where he distinguished himself as a sharpshooter. This discipline and focus translated into his everyday life, evident in the way he approached his hobbies with a sense of purpose and determination.
Earl was a man of great wit and humor, always quick with a joke that could light up any room. His gentle nature and loving spirit have left indelible marks on everyone who knew him. He was an extraordinary father to his three children. Earl is survived by his devoted wife, Doris Young; his son, Trevor Young (Cherie); daughter, Lesley Prentice (Steve); and son, Barry Young. His grandchildren, Sierra Marr (Stephen), Triston Young, Cole Young, and Destiney Prentice, were his proudest accomplishments. He cherished the time spent with them and reveled in every moment of their lives, celebrating their achievements with unbound joy.
Earl is also survived by his siblings, Barbara Speiser (Dale), Beverly Barclay (Duane), Kenneth Young (Diane), and Joseph Young (Linda) and David Young (Judy), who will carry his memory forward.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Fern, and his sister, Sharon Darnell, as well as his beloved granddaughters, Stephaney, Elizabeth, and Victoria Prentice. Their memories now rest alongside him as he finds peace.
