Earnest Sandberg, Jr., 89, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019, born to Earnest Theodore and Eunice Beryl (Snook) Sandberg on August 10, 1930 in Kimball, Nebraska.
Earnest drove the school bus when he was 15 years old, graduated from Burns High School, attended college in Denver and worked the family farm. Earnest served in the U.S. Army and retired from Frontier Refinery after 28 years of service. While working at the refinery, he also raised cattle.
Earnest is preceded in death by his parents, sister Eloise Shellhart and brother Eldon Sandberg.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Velma Nancy (Douglas) Sandberg; children Pamela Sandberg, Chuck Sandberg, Mike and Gloria Sandberg. In addition, he is survived by his grandchildren Kelley Lendino, Tricia Smith, Michael Earnest Sandberg, Tanner West, Codi Van Duzee, Parker Henry, and Beth Martin; nine great grandchildren; sisters Norma Deselms, Darlene Palmer, Sharon Hahn, and brother Dale Sandberg.
Services will be on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Schrader, Aragon, & Jacoby Funeral Home. A reception will follow in the reception center. Burial will Monday, December 9, 2019 in Lakeview Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
