Mr. Ed Hoffman, 41, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Tuesday evening, December 14, 2010, at the Davis Hospice Center. Ed was born May 5, 1969, in Cheyenne, a son of Fred and Janell (March) Hoffman. Ed attended East High School and for past 25 years, he has worked in the restaurant business most notably as a chef for such restaurants as Gretchen’s in Sun Valley, Idaho, The Garden Café in Lincoln, Nebraska, and such local establishments as Little America and Poor Richards. His many interests included playing his guitar, working on cars, riding motorcycles, listening to rock-n-roll, and taking his boys fishing. He will be remembered for his love of family and for the unconditional love that he shared with his wife, Wendy. He was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother and friend, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Ed is survived by his loving wife, Wendy Jo (Humphrey) Hoffman of Cheyenne; two sons, Edward M. Hoffman, Jr. of Cheyenne, and Jonathan P. Hoffman of Cheyenne; three step-children, Hunter Petsch of Cheyenne, Hayden Petsch of Cheyenne, and Sam Petsch of Cheyenne; his parents, Fred and Janell Hoffman of Cheyenne; his brother, Todd Hoffman of Cheyenne; two sisters, Leanna Butki of Douglas, WY, and Jennifer Casey of Cheyenne; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Fred and Letha Hoffman, and his maternal grandparents, Maurice “Skoop” and Virginia March. At his family’s request, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be conducted on Monday, December 20, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at the Schrader Chapel with Pastor Jeff Maness officiating.
