Edna Norma White, 98, was called Home by her Savior on October 17, 2019 at Life Care Center of Cheyenne. She was born November 27, 1920, near Dalton, Nebraska, to Theodor and Anna Poppitz. At the age of sixteen she left home to go to work in Cheyenne, Wyoming. There she met Fred J. White, whom she married on October 3, 1942. She worked at a variety of jobs, including one for the Wyoming Attorney General, before going into accounting and taxes. She worked at the Engstrom Accounting Office for about 20 years, and then spent shorter times at Cannon Aeronautical Center and the Wyoming Education Association. She retired from WEA in the late 1970s. As a hobby she taught herself how to paint and became a gifted artist, with many of her landscape and floral oil paintings gracing Cheyenne homes. She was a faithful member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She had a deep love for her Lord, her family and friends. To the delight of many, she carried a sense of humor in her back pocket. She is survived by one brother, Arnold Poppitz, and his wife Jeannette; sister-in-law, Bernice Poppitz; seven nieces; and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred; brother, Edwin Poppitz; and sister, Wilma Norberg. Services will be Thursday, Oct. 24, at 10:00 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 4776 Mountain Road, followed by interment in Beth El Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Services are under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home and condolences may be offered at www.schradercares.com. "Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever" (Psalm 23:6).
