Edward Hollingsworth

Edward David "Dave" Hollingsworth, age 79, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on October 2. He was born August 3, 1935 in Denver, CO to parents William and Henrietta Hollingsworth. He grew up in Georgetown and Denver, Colorado. In 1954, he married high school sweetheart, Penny Hinderlider. They raised 4 daughters and were married for 34 years until Penny's death in 1989. In 1991, he married Thelma "Lu" Mullendore. Dave and his family moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1966 so he could pursue his sales career with the Bruning Company, selling blueprinting supplies. Then in 1983, he successfully began his own blueprinting business, Hollingsworth's Engineering Graphics, located in downtown Cheyenne. He retired in 1993. He was Contract Acts Chairman for Cheyenne Frontier Days from 1981-1983, and served as President of the Board of the Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum. He was a member of the CFD Heels and the Cheyenne Elk's Lodge 660. Dave especially enjoyed camping in his RV and fishing. He was an avid Denver Broncos fan. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Dave is survived by his wife of 23 years, Thelma Lu; Daughters: Pamela Sue Hansen (Craig) of Fort Collins, Shelly Lenz (Charles Bacon) of Lincoln NE, Cindy Kushnir (Rich Ratliff) of Cheyenne; Step-sons: Jay Mullendore of Cheyenne and Scott Mullendore of Brownwood, TX; Grandchildren: Aaron Hansen, Amanda Hollaway, Jason Lenz, Heather Gray, Katie Kushnir, Adam, Jared and Stephen Mullendore. He was preceded in death by his first wife Penny; daughter, Stephanie, and his parents. Celebration of Dave's life will be held at the CFD Buckle Club on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at 1 pm. Memorial donations can be made to the CFD Memorial Scholarship Fund or charity of choice.
