Edwards Newbury

Fr. Edwards Bodine Newbury (Ret.), 77, of Kimball, Nebraska, passed away Sunday evening, July 19, 2015, at the Life Care Center of Cheyenne following a lengthy illness. Fr. Newbury was born June 8, 1938, in Toms River, New Jersey, a son of the late Amos B. and Elizabeth (Dorsett) Newbury. Fr. Newbury received a BA from Kings College in PA. He went on to study at the Conwell School of Theology where he graduated with a Masters of Divinity. He had a unique and diverse career path by working as a Presbyterian minister, a taxi driver in New York City, an artist, and a minister at a Presbyterian mission in Kentucky before being re-ordained in the Episcopal Church. Fr. Newbury was an Episcopal priest for over 25 years in Kentucky and Nebraska. Fr. Newbury is survived by his two children, Suzie and Eric, and his five grandchildren: Eve (18), Amelia (14), Katie (13), and twins AJ and Ellie (11). His family will be holding a service at St. Mark's Episcopal Church on Friday, July 24, 2015, at 2:00pm.
