Eileen Boone

Eileen Esther (Gustafson) Boone died peacefully surrounded by family in hospice care on February 12, 2016, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, at the age of 92. Eileen was born August 16, 1923, in Chugwater, Wyoming, to Paul and Dena Gustafson. Eileen was the second of four children. She graduated from Central High School in Cheyenne in 1941 and went to work for JC Penny's. She married Grady H. Boone August 30, 1946, in Cheyenne and on June 16, 1949, they welcomed their only child, Charles Daniel, into their lives. Eileen dedicated her time to raising her son while he was young. When Chuck began high school, Eileen started working for the post office in an effort to send him to college. She continued working for the postal service for 18 years. Eileen was kind and furiously independent. She loved her friends and was passionate about her family. She and her sister enjoyed many road trips to visit family, which included some fun filled stops at casinos along the way. Eileen loved eating out, spending time with friends and shopping. She will be remember by those who love her for her generosity and desire to make sure her family were well cared for. Eileen is survived by her sister, Lois Leckey of Cheyenne; grandson, Mike Boone and his wife, Joni, of Ankeny, IA; great-granddaughter, Janie Eileen; and 3 nephews; Mike, Pat and Brad. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, and two brothers.
