Elaine Withers

Mrs. Elaine F. (Lilley) Withers, 77, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, August 29, 2013, at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Withers was born June 27, 1936, in Prosser, Nebraska, the daughter of the late Edwin and Onda (Bishop) Lilley. Elaine was raised in Prosser, Nebraska, and she married Jerry Withers and the couple made their home in Cheyenne in 1966. She loved children and she cared for a number of children in her home, often "raising" them from infancy to school age. She enjoyed the outdoors and her many interests included hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and snowmobiling. In her retirement, she and her husband loved to travel and they were members of the Family Motor Coach Association. She also enjoyed cooking, bowling and her involvement with the Daughters of the Nile and the Red Hat Society. Elaine is survived by her children, Cindy Brown and husband, Bob, of Cheyenne, Jeff Withers of Cheyenne, Scot Withers and wife, Kim, of Cheyenne, Mark Withers of Cheyenne, and Jerry Withers and wife, Susanne, of Cheyenne; her brother, Joe Lilley of Prosser, NE; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Jerry Withers in 2009; and her granddaughter, Ashley Brown. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Schrader Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Schrader Chapel with The Reverend Roger Rapp officiating. An interment service will be held at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
