Elizabeth A. "Betty" Lee, 95, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Friday, June 10, 2016, at the Davis Hospice Center. Betty Lee was born February 11, 1921, in Sioux Falls, SD, the daughter of the late Dr. Henry J. and Olivia M. (Hecklin) Carleton. Betty graduated from Lindenwood College in St. Charles, Missouri, and later the University of Chicago Art Institute with a degree in studio art and fashion design. She married Cornelius Guy Lee on Dec. 30, 1942, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Betty was an artist, homemaker, and a wonderful mother and friend. She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, active in the Altar Guild, Episcopal Church Women and Chrismons. Betty was involved in the Retired Officers Association, Military Wives, and DAR. She was Past President of numerous organizations such as Chapter BA-PEO and the Town & Country League. Betty is survived by four children, Gregg Carleton Lee and his wife, Diana of Burlington, NC, Marty Lee Samuels of Des Moines, IA, Harper Lee Park and husband, David of Casper, WY and Patricia Lee White of Denver, CO; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cornelius G. Lee in 1977; and a brother, Henry J. Carleton, Jr. Expressions of sympathy may be given in Betty's honor to St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Davis Hospice Center or a charity of your choice. A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church with The Reverend Rick Veit officiating. A private family interment will be held at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
