Cremation will take place a t Schrader’s Sunset Park Crematory. A reception serving light refreshments will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at the Schrader Funeral Home. Mrs. Elizabeth I. Whitney, 76, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, formerly of Worland, Wyoming, passed away Sunday morning, June 20, 2010, at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne. Mrs. Whitney was born September 6, 1933, in Oak Grove, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Edwin and Nina Louise (Lohorn) Key. Elizabeth married Wendell Whitney and they enjoyed traveling the United States as he drove truck. She worked as a cook for Fireside Pizza for a number of years in Worland and she especially enjoyed raising her children and caring for her grandchildren. Following her husband’s death, she moved to Cheyenne to be closer to her family. She enjoyed spending time with her companion, Ron Halligan, as well as fishing, gardening and camping. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend, and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Whitney is survived by three children, Brenda Jackson of Cheyenne, Wayne Jackson of Bourbonnais, IL, and Debbie Johnson of Champagne, IL; three sisters, Garland, Bonnie and Betty, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wendell Whitney; two sons, Ronnie and Steven Jackson; an infant daughter; and a sister, Jean Cox.
