Elsie Grace Baker

Elsie Grace (Briggs) Baker, 96, of Cheyenne, passed away Monday, August 10, 2015, at home. Grace was born April 2, 1919, in Keota, Colorado, to Lester L. and Elsie M. (Southard) Briggs. Elsie graduated from Cheyenne High and was one of three girls who lettered in sports all three years. She worked as the East High cafeteria manager and was a past officer and member of the Eagles Auxiliary. She volunteered at the VA Medical Center, and enjoyed bowling, crocheting, baking, and spending time with her family. Grace is survived by son, Robert O. Baker; brother, Robert A. Briggs; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren, all of Cheyenne. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bert O. Baker; daughter, Doris E. Baker; three brothers; and three sisters. Visitation is Thursday, August 13, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. Services are on Friday, August 14th at 2:00 p.m. at the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. Interment services will be held at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens with a reception to follow at the Schrader Reception Center.
