Emily Ann Macy died on Sunday November 8 in her husband's loving arms after a short illness. She was born on May 16, 1935, in Green River, Wyoming to Emil and Marie Sedlacek. She attended the University of Wyoming and graduated with a business degree in 1955. She was a member of the Tri-Delta Sorority along with her two daughters. She met her husband, Richard J. Macy at the University of Wyoming and they were married on September 1, 1956. They moved to Sundance, Wyoming where they became active members of the community and Catholic Church. They moved to Cheyenne when Richard was appointed to the Wyoming Supreme Court in 1985. Emily Ann and Richard were married for 59 years and spent the winter months in Green Valley, Arizona after Justice Macy's retirement. Emily Ann was a teacher in Sundance High school specializing in business and was also the Sundance City Clerk for many years. She later received her certificate in Library science and substituted at all the Cheyenne high schools. She was appointed by the Governor Hathaway of Wyoming and served on the Northeast Wyoming Mental Health board. Emily Ann is survived by her husband Richard and her three children: Anne (Terry) Tate of Lincoln California, Patti (Michael) McKim of Centennial, Mark (Shelley) Macy from Cheyenne. Grandchildren, Kendall Tate, Drew Tate, Christine McKim, Connor McKim, Luke and Elaina Macy; and her sister, Rita Kelly, Denver.Co. Emily Ann was an avid golfer and loved to be outdoors walking the Cheyenne parks. She loved Wyoming football and basketball and traveling. She was the ‘rock' of the family. She will be missed by many. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 13, at St. Mary's Cathedral at 1:00 pm. A reception will be held at the Cheyenne Country Club following the mass. Contributions can be made to the Tri-Delta Foundation, St. Joseph's Children's Home in Torrington, Wyoming or the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
