Eugene E. "Gene" Gardner, 83, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, died Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at Davis Hospice Center. Mr. Gardner was born September 7, 1932, in Yuma, Colorado, a son of the late Floyd M. and Bessie M. (Aydlatt) Gardner. Gene began his career with Wyco Pipeline Company in Dupont, Colorado, and graduated to operator. In 1972, he was transferred to Casper and worked for Amoco Pipeline Company as "Operator A", and later as a supervisor overseeing Casper, Cheyenne and Rapid City, SD. In 1984, he moved to Evanston and worked in the crude oil industry, retiring in 1990. He later worked as an inspector of new pipeline construction that covered numerous states, holding that position for 12 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with family and friends. Gene is survived by five children from his first wife, Margaret Kraft; two children from his current wife, Joyce L. (Stone) Gardner; a sister; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren with one on-the-way; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded by his parents; a son; and a brother. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 5, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at the Mountain View Memorial Park Interment Center.
