Evalyn "Lynn" Therese Bon Patterson, 83, died March 3, 2013, at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born December 2, 1929, in Cheyenne to Edward C. "Buddy" Bon and Serafina (Facinelli) Bon. Lynn graduated from St. Mary's High School. She attended Dominican College in San Rafael, California, and the University of Wyoming receiving her Bachelor's degree in English from Metropolitan State College in Denver. She married Richard A. "Dick" Patterson in 1950 in Cheyenne. Lynn worked at KGOS Radio Station in Torrington, the Wyoming State Tribune and Patterson Music Company in Cheyenne. She found her true calling in education, specializing in Adult Reading and English as a Second Language. She taught in California and Colorado as well as LCCC and Chapman College on Warren Air Force Base. Lynn also had a fulfilling volunteer career. She was a member of W-Heels, PEO Chapter C, St. Mary's Cathedral and past - president for the Pioneer Club. She was influential in establishing and opening "Home Away from Home" at CRMC. In 1998, she became the first Volunteer Coordinator at the Laramie County Library where she worked until she retired in 2004. She was also a gifted writer and editor and an accomplished pianist and dulcimer player. At age 12, she ascended the Grand Teton with Paul Petzold as her guide and forever more had a deep love and connection with the mountains. Growing up she loved riding horses and spending time on the family‘s sheep ranch in Wyoming. She cherished weekday getaways to the Snowy Range and the Colorado mountains and longer treks to the Tetons. She loved traveling, hiking, fishing, reading, photography and music. Lynn was a devoted and adored mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by three children, Rick (Sandy) Patterson of Firestone, CO; Kim (Bill) Mill of Cheyenne, and Donnica Patterson Jones of San Diego, CA; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; and extended family and cherished friends. A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral with Father Michael Carr celebrating. An interment service will follow in Olivet Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers are her three children. Cremation is under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home Memorials may be made to the Laramie County Library Foundation.
