Fannie Lorraine (Hawk) Querry, 88, of Wheatland, Wyoming, passed away early Sunday morning, March 11, 2018, at the Platte County Legacy Home in Wheatland. Fannie was born June 3, 1929 in South Bend, Indiana to Earnest and Iva Hawk. She was the second of seven children. The most important date to Fannie during her lifetime was September 4, 1948 when she was baptized in symbol of her dedication to her God Jehovah. The second most important date was May 1, 1948 when she married Donald Querry in South Bend. Don and Fannie had one son, Don, Jr. Don and Fannie lived in and near South Bend for the next 30 years. They zealously served in different congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses in that area as they were asked to assist them. Though living in different towns and homes posed challenges at times, Fannie gave her whole-hearted support and helped in every instance, and because of that was known and loved by many friends in many places. In 1978 they moved to Wheatland, Wyoming to be near their son and daughter-in-law, Don, Jr. and Linda, and their only grandchildren at the time, Jason and Joshua. Once again, she faithfully served in the Wheatland Congregation. At one time they were asked to move to Scottsbluff, Nebraska to be of assistance to that congregation, and as was their custom, they gladly did so, again gaining new and dearly loved friends there. She truly "fought the fine fight" and "ran the race to the finish" (2 Timothy 4:7). Besides her husband, Don, Fannie is survived by a brother, Robert Hawk and his wife, Jean of Southaven, Mississippi; sister, Vera Lempio and her husband, Paul of Maui, Hawaii; son, Don, Jr. and his wife, Linda of Wheatland; three grandchildren, Jason Querry and his wife, Jenny and their daughters, Meredith and Morgan of Wheatland, Joshua Querry and his wife, Jocey of Jackson, Wyoming and their daughters, Omni and Adelaide, and Johannah Niemi and her husband, Jason of Wheatland and their son, Gunner. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Alice, Jane, Martha and Elgenia. Services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Wheatland with Roger McKenzie officiating. Cremation is under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home in Cheyenne.
