Flo Hemphill

Flo (Reed) Hemphill, 76, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away late Monday evening, May 20, 2013, at the Davis Hospice Center surrounded by her loving family. Flo was born April 4, 1937, in Cheyenne, a daughter of the late William and Lena (Myers) Reed. Flo was a graduate of St. Mary's Catholic School in 1956 and shortly after graduation, she married Joe Hemphill on June 2, 1956. She worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Company for a several years and then worked in the medical field for Dr. Hawes, Dr. Giovale and DePaul Hospital, retiring in 1985 as a secretary. She committed her free time as a homemaker and she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her many interests included shopping and playing games on the internet. She will be remembered as a care-free spirit who loved her family. Flo is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Joe Hemphill of Cheyenne; a son, Todd Hemphill of Cheyenne; three daughters, Lisa Ojeda of Cheyenne, Amy Lucero and husband, Tony, of Cheyenne, and Gail Garcia of Mesa, AZ; nine grandchildren, Angie, Sarah, Ciarra, Rhiannon, Taylor, Autumn, Joel, Zack and Josh; and seven great-grandchildren, Dalila, Chloe, Ammarissa, Elizabeth, Sophia, Kylie and Makaelyn. She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, George Dugas; her sister, Jeannie Bunderson; and a grandson, Isaac Ojeda. Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus. Cremation is under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy in Flo's memory may be made to the Davis Hospice Center, 6000 Sycamore Avenue, Cheyenne, WY 82009. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home, Cheyenne.
