Floyd Foresman

October 7, 1939 — September 6, 2014

"Floyd, do you want to go skiing?" "Absolutely! When do we go?" Floyd E. Foresman was a man of the outdoors and family. He loved his family dearly. His wife, Janet Lynn Foresman, from Cody, Wyoming, fell in love with Floyd at the University of Wyoming. They were married 51 years ago. Floyd and Janet had two children, Scott Foresman of San Francisco and Lynn Zuver of Cheyenne. Lynn married a wonderful man that Floyd adored, John Zuver. Lynn and John gave Janet and Floyd two grandchildren that they thought hung the moon. Luchia and Marcus were the greatest joys in Floyd's life. Floyd was also lucky to have a terrific sister, Sally Wilking of Salt Lake City, Utah. Floyd was loved and admired by all of his extended family. Floyd was a Wyomingite in every way. He was born October 7, 1939, in Cheyenne and he died in Cheyenne on September 6, 2014. He grew up in Dubios, Wyoming, with the Wind River literally in his back yard. He, of course, was an avid fly fisherman, hunter, skier and golfer. If it had anything to do with the outdoors, he loved it. Floyd spent a long career as a civil engineer of the Wyoming Highway Department. He was also very active in the Cheyenne community. Floyd was an active member of the Snowy Range Ski Patrol, Cheyenne Ski Club and Boy Scout Troop 101. He donated his time to so many organizations that we can't list them all. He gave most of his time these past 51 years to Kiwanis, Cheyenne Frontier Days, Meals-on-Wheels, St. Joseph's Food Pantry, and many other churches and not-for-profit organizations. One of his favorite groups to work with was the Old West Museum. He worked with the staff to create many databases to track the collection and artifacts. A memory service will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at Destiny Church with Pastor Rick McGraw officiating. Cremation is under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Old West Museum or the Davis Hospice Center.
