Gabriel Shorkey

Gabriel John Alden Shorkey a.k.a. "Smiley" or "Handsome", 7, of Cheyenne died February 1, 2013 at the Children's Hospital in Aurora, CO. He was born September 14, 2005 in Cheyenne. He was a student at Sunrise Elementary School. His hobby was to go fishing, being outdoors & around people, Karaoke with Grandma, and watching the Denver Broncos. He is survived by his mother, Ami Shorkey of Cheyenne; adopted step-father, Nick Wise of Cheyenne; siblings, Noah Wilson and Brianna Wilson of Cheyenne; grandparents, Teresa and Gary Cumming of Cheyenne and adopted grandparents, Jean and Robert Wise; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins of Washington State and his father, Ray Shorkey, Jr. of Michigan. Visitation will be Thursday noon until 7: 00 p.m. with the family receiving friends 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Schrader Funeral Home. A graveside service will be Friday at 3:30 p.m. at the Interment Center at Mountain View Memorial Park. Those who wish may contribute to the Children's Hospital in Aurora, Colorado. The family would like to express their deepest thanks to all of the staff of the Children's Hospital for all of their hard work and kindnesses while Gabriel was in there care. Services are under the care of Schrader Funeral Home.
