Gary Humphrey

Gary Lee Humphrey 77 of Burns died March 30, 2013. Gary was born in Burns on July 8, 1935 to Harvey J. Humphrey and Ruby J. (Bishop) Humphrey. He married Irene E. Weber on July 13, 1957. Except for a brief time after his marriage, Gary lived in Burns his entire life. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad after high School and in 1962 went to work for Pioneer Printing and Stationary Company. He spent the next 42 years of his working career there until his retirement in 2004. Gary coached little league baseball for many years. He loved duck hunting, the New York Yankees, Green Bay Packers, and his Wyoming Cowboys. He considered himself fortunate to be close to and spend time with his grandchildren and great granddaughter. Gary is survived by his wife of 55 years, Irene Humphrey. Son, Mike Humphrey and wife Alice of Burns, daughter Susan Mills and husband Chuck Mills of Burns, four grandchildren, Casey and wife Rachel Mills, Brian Mills, Katie Mills, and Austin Humphrey. One great granddaughter, Payden Mills. He is also survived by one brother, Bill and wife Carol Humphrey of Cheyenne. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Mel Humphrey, Del Humphrey, and Kent Humphrey, sisters, Mary Close, Dorothy Bergstrom, Leona Silva, Amy Humphrey, Norma Fricke, and Patricia Plambeck. Visitation will be held Monday from 5:00-7:30pm at Schrader Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00pm at Burns Cemetery. The Reverend Gywn Downing will be officiating. Pall bearers will be Dennis Bastian, Ted Bastian, Lloyd Green, Butch Loveridge, Chuck Majors and Jeff Schnur. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cheyenne Animal Shelter.
