Gary Lee Ogle, 62, was born on January 22, 1959 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He passed into the Lord’s presence in his home on September 24, 2021. He grew up outside of Burns, Wyoming on the family farm. He was a graduate of the University of Wyoming and obtained his Master of Divinity degree at Columbia International University in Columbia, South Carolina.
It was here that Gary met the love of his life, Judi. They were married in November 1990 and were partners together in life and ministry. He was a pastor for 18 years, ministering through Village Missions in churches in Burlington, Maine and Star, Colorado. He then returned to the farm to take care of his parents.
He was a gentle, humble person who ministered to many just by his quiet presence. His desire was to live a godly life, always wanting to please his Lord. He was a man of integrity through and through. He exhibited these characteristics as he battled lymphoma off and on for the past ten years. In his final battle over the past three months, his desire was the Lord’s will or as the apostle Paul stated, “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.”
Gary is survived by his wife of almost 31 years, Judi Ogle; sons, Jonathan, Josiah (Kailey), and Caleb; grandchildren, Kyler and Hazel; sisters, Betty Jo (Mark) Stiffney, Kathy (Merlyn) Henry, Carol (Dennis) McCoy; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Bernetta Ogle.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gary’s memory to Golden Prairie Church; 4992 CO Rd 226, Burns WY 82053-where Gary grew up and ministered in many ways through the years or En Gedi Retreat 192 Sleepy Hollow Lane, Steamboat Springs, CO 80487 or www.engediretreat.org: an organization Gary was involved with for many years as a ‘pastor to pastors’.
