                                                                                   In Memory of Gary Snyder

 

Gary Snyder passed away at the age of 76, Thursday January 16, 2025 surrounded by his wife and children. He was a resident of Cheyenne WY at the time of death.

Gary was born in Corpus Christi Texas to Murile Snyder and Evelyn June Powers. He joined the Army in Sept 1967 and was stationed in Saigon during the Vietnam war. After the military he moved to Laramie Wyoming and worked on a ranch for many years. There he met Debra Wilson and got married in 1974. After ranching he joined the truck driver’s union and pursued life in Cheyenne WY. 

Gary enjoyed riding horses, camping, hunting, fishing and spending time with family. He never complained he just went with the flow of things. He enjoyed visiting with people and harassing them. He always was willing to help others. Gary devoted his life to faith and family. 

Gary is proceeded in death by both parents Murile “PUG” Snyder and Evelyn June Snyder as well as his brother Daniel Snyder.

Gary is survived by his wife of 50 years Debra Snyder, their son Robert Snyder and spouse Michele Ferguson Lowhorn, son Gary Snyder Jr his wife Khory Snyder and daughter Tonnie Curby husband Wesley Curby and eight grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses 3422 N College Drive, Cheyenne WY 82001, February 1st 2025 at 10 am. Zoom Services will be available.
