A memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, March 25, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Roger W. Rapp officiating. Cremation will take place at Schrader’s Sunset Park Crematory. Genevieve DeForest (Jenny) Hudspeth, 82, of Cheyenne died March 21, 2010 at Davis Hospice Center. Jenny was born July 26, 1927, in Rochester, New York, and lived in Cheyenne since 1961. Jenny was a beloved and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a meticulous homemaker and spent many years as secretary and bookkeeper for her husband’s business, HNB Consulting Engineers. She was active in the community, volunteering at the First Presbyterian Church and Meals on Wheels. She was an active member of P.E.O. and enjoyed playing bridge. Jenny loved to travel. She enjoyed many adventures, from camping trips to exotic voyages overseas with her loving husband and traveling companion. Jenny was a survivor of the 1989 United Flight 232 crash in Sioux City, Iowa; despite this, she continued to travel. She also enjoyed hosting other travelers. Her home was always open to family, friends, and strangers traveling through Cheyenne. Jenny loved the water, whether swimming, boating, or water-skiing. Jenny is survived by her husband of 49 years, Vealess Hudspeth; three daughters, Janet St. John and husband, Daniel, of Denver, CO, Elizabeth Lack of Cheyenne, and Sue Bryce and husband, Arthur. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Hailey St. John and Ashlyn St. John of Denver; her sister, Marion Graham of Dresden, Ohio; her brother-in-law, Kenneth Hudspeth and wife, Imogene, of Quitman, AK; and many nieces and nephews. Jenny was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial contributions to the First Presbyterian Church or Meals on Wheels. 0
