George Romsa

September 26, 1933 — April 14, 2011

George Lee Romsa, 77, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, April 14, 2011. A lifelong resident of Albin, WY. George Lee was a farmer and rancher and the son and grandson of homesteaders in Laramie County. George Lee attended Albin High School and married his high school sweetheart, Maxine M. Kenzy, in the Albin Baptist Church on October 2, 1954. George Lee and Maxine made their home and raised their five children, Deborah, Jay, Donna, Julie and Lee, on the family farm. George Lee also drove truck and logged over two million miles across the continental US and Canada. George Lee was a member of the Albin Baptist Church, were he served for many years as a trustee, usher and a much loved Sunday school teacher. George Lee also served his community on the Board of Directors for the Albin District Volunteer Fire Department. George Lee's passions were his family and farming. He especially doted on his grandchildren and younger cousins and was renowned for his magic tricks, teasing and practical jokes. He also had a natural ability for fixing or crafting anything, whether automotive, woodworking, plumbing or electrical. George Lee and Maxine have eleven grandchildren, Tim, Michael and Chris Kolnik, Kristina (Kolnik) Williams, Bryan and David Romsa, Brandon Wasserburger, Shane and Jayme Osterhout, J.C. Castillo and Daniel Romsa. He also has six great grandchildren, Hanna Maddux, Aidan Kolnik, William and Jacob Martin, Jeremiah Williams and Grace Romsa, plus numerous nieces and nephews. George Lee is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Maxine of Albin; his children, Jay and his wife, Sue Romsa, of North Mankato, MN, Donna and her husband, Dave Wasserburger of Gig Harbor, WA, Julie and her husband, Brent Osterhout, of Collinsville, IL and Lee Romsa, and his wife, Irene of Wellington, CO. George Lee was preceded in death by his parents, George and Marian (Ostheimer) Romsa; his brothers, William and James Romsa; his daughter, Deborah (Romsa) Kolnik; a nephew, Bill Romsa; and his great-grandson, Jeremiah Williams. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2011, from 9-11 a.m. at the Schrader Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Lakeview Cemetery with a memorial service celebrating George Lee's life at 1:00 p.m. at the Cheyenne Hills Church with The Reverend Galen Huck officiating. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in George Lee's name either to the Albin Baptist Church, 316 Cheyenne Avenue, Albin, WY 82050, the Cheyenne Hills Church, 7505 U.S. Highway 30, Cheyenne, WY, or the Barbara Davis Center for Children Diabetic, Univ. of Colorado Denver, Mail Stop A140, P.O.
