Georgiana Stewart

Georgiana R. Stewart, loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister, passed away at her home on January 8, 2015. "George", to all who knew her, was born on November 7, 1953, in Berkeley, CA, to Albert and Ethel Stoick. She was raised in Moorcroft and Glenrock, Wyoming. She graduated from Glenrock High School and received her Associates Degree from Casper, College. George married Mark R. Stewart at Christ Episcopal Church in Glenrock, on June 5, 1982. In 1989, George and her family moved to Cheyenne, where she began work as a part time receptionist and title examiner for First American Title. She was named president and manager of First American in 2004, and continued in that capacity until her death. She loved the people she worked with and the people they served. George loved helping people and dedicated her time to the needs of others. She served on numerous community and charitable boards, including Meals on Wheels, Friday Food Bags, the United Way, Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce (Military Affairs), the Realtor Family Fund, Cheyenne Regional Hospital Foundation Board, and Cheyenne LEADS, where she served as chairperson. She was named business person of the year by the Cheyenne Realtors Association in 2008. She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church. Just a few hours before she passed away, she made her final Friday Food Bag delivery, one of her greatest joys. One of George's favorite past times was sewing. She was a talented artist and her quilts and cross-stitch creations are treasured by her family and friends. Beyond all of her professional achievements and charitable contributions, George's greatest gift was the unconditional love, support, and commitment she gave to her family every day of her life. She will be forever missed. George is survived by her father Al, her brother Ken Stoick and his wife Diana, her husband Mark, four children: Stacey (Rachel) Hoyt and Chris (Nikki) Hoyt, of Castle Rock, Colorado, Kaitlin MacPherson (Michael) Laramie, and Abby Stewart, Denver, Colorado; and grandsons Sean Stewart and Chase Hoyt. She was preceded in death by her mother Ethel "Mickey" Stoick. A service for the celebration of George's life will be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Thursday, January 15, 2015, at 11 a.m. Instead of flowers, the family requests that any gifts in George's memory be made to the Friday Food Bag Foundation, P.O.
