Gerald L. Hager, 57 of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning, July 4, 2013, where he found his true Independence on that day. Jerry was born June 29, 1956, in Colorado, a son of the late Dorwin and Thelma Hager. Jerry was a heavy equipment operator and enjoyed highway safety. He loved fishing, camping with family, and telling stories about the fish he lost. He will be remembered for his stories, numerous practical jokes he pulled, and the times he would teach his children and grandchildren things they needed to know. Jerry is survived by his wife, Kathlene of Cheyenne; his brother, Roger of Independence, MO; his six children, Jeremy, Travis, Jay, Andrew, Tanya and Roselee and their spouses; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. His family will hold a memorial service on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at LDS State Center on Education Drive in Cheyenne. Cremation is under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home.
