Geraldine Marion (Hershey) Moyer, 87, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away April 12, 2012. Gerry, as she was sometimes known, was born July 15, 1924, in Redmond, Washington. Her parents were Lee Joseph Hershey and Marion Harriett (Stone) Hershey. Gerry's father was a Tool and Die maker and had moved to Redmond because there was a need for his skills. After Gerry was born, the family returned to Aurora, IL, via a Model T. Gerry graduated from East Aurora High School. After high school she was employed by the Elgin Watch Company and later the Barber-Greene Machinery Company. She also worked as a Teacher's Aide at Arp Elementary School. She was a bus aide for Laramie County School District # 1until her retirement in 1989. She met the love of her life, Richard Moyer, while roller skating and ice skating. Richard and Geraldine married on June 12, 1948. They eventually moved to Cheyenne, WY. They raised two daughters in Cheyenne - Kay and Rayma. Gerry loved to sew, crochet and knit. She was a 30 plus year 4-H Leader, a member of the Cheyenne FFA Alumni, and Cheyenne Saddle Tramps during its early years. Mostly Gerry loved to walk with her dog in the mornings and look at the flowers and garden she and Richard had planted. Geraldine is survived by her husband, Richard Moyer, of Cheyenne; and two daughters, Kay Moyer and Rayma Rushing, and husband, Roy, all of Cheyenne. She is also survived by her two beloved grandchildren ,Cole Gallagher and fiancée,' Sarah Ferguson, and Jamie Gallagher. Geraldine's sister, Ellen Gramley, is her only living sibling. Gerry is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Leo and Jesse Hershey; one sister, Elaine Hershey; and several cousins, aunts and uncles both here in Wyoming and Illinois. A graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at the Mountain View Memorial Park Cemetery Interment Center with Mr. Raymon Hershey officiating.
