Gerald "Jerry" Stevens

Gerald, "Jerry" G. Stevens surrendered to his fight with ALS on Monday, February 24, 2014, with his wife, Kim, at his side. Jerry was born in Wheatland on August 19, 1957. He was one of six children of Gerald and Dollie Stevens. He grew up in Guernsey, completing high school in 1975. He married Kimberly K. (Weber) Ridge on April 1, 1990. Jerry shared his love of the mountains with his wife and two children, where they enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. He is remembered by his family as a man who loved to take the off-beaten path where new adventures awaited. Jerry possessed strong family values and was always available and supportive, willing to do all he could to assist them with life's challenges. He was well known for his hard work and strong work ethics. Prior to beginning his employment as a Crew Chief with the Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities in 1995, Jerry worked as a welder, carpenter, cabinet maker and landscaper. He also retired from the Wyoming National Guard. Jerry loved the sport of Atlatl and watching the Denver Broncos play. Jerry is survived by his wife, Kimberly; his children, Jesse and Jeff; a brother, Robert; his sisters, Charlett and Shirley; and granddaughters, Kalani, Angel and Shelby. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Leslie and Lee. No services are planned at this time. Cremation is under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home. Those who wish may contribute to Rocky Mountain ALS Association in Jerry's name.
